The University Dramatic Society presents ‘Last Man Standing: The Steven Bradbury Musical’, following the story of famed Aussie speed skater Steven Bradbury and his journey to winning the Olympic gold.
The greatest story never told… Last Man Standing tells the infamous story of Australia's first Winter Olympic Gold medal - when unlikely hero Steven Bradbury crossed the finish line after every single competitor fell over in front of him. But this is far more than just that one extraordinary moment. This brand new musical follows Steven from the very beginning, tracing the road that shaped one of the most beloved underdogs in Australian sporting history. From his earliest days through the brutal setbacks, near misses, and sheer bloody-minded persistence that defined his career, Last Man Standing asks a question we don't ask often enough - what does it actually take to be the Last Man Standing?
Part triumph, part comedy, and completely uniquely Australian, this never-seen before musical adaptation brings one of our greatest sporting stories to life on stage. Whether you remember watching that race unfold in disbelief or you're discovering the legend fresh, this is a show that will leave you cheering. Because sometimes the greatest victories aren't the ones you fight hardest for - they're the ones you simply survive long enough to reach.
The University Dramatic Society is proud to present this one of a kind musical with Book, Lyrics and Music by Sam Robins
