Elijah

West Australian Opera in association with UWA Conservatorium of Music.

ELIJAH CAST CHANGE: Mr Lachlann Lawton will sing the role of Elijah

Winthrop Hall will resonate with the wonderful sounds of over 150 performers, singing from the stage, galleries and central floor as West Australian Opera immerses audiences in glorious music for this unique event.

Mendelssohn’s heroic work Elijah is an opera in disguise, an old testament story that has been performed countless times as a sacred oratorio. In this reimagining West Australian Opera is proud to collaborate with the UWA Conservatorium of Music to bring this spectacular gem to life. Prepare to be moved by enchanting voices and powerful melody.

This world premiere production will see director Patrick Nolan take four of Australia’s most beloved singers and the UWA Symphony Orchestra and Chorus on a journey through the prophet Elijah’s magnificent story of faith, doubt and miracles.

The audience will be seated in the round, so places are limited for this re-imagined opera season.

Please note:

  • Seating is reserved and tiered to enable good viewing from all seats
  • Doors will open at 7pm

This event complies with all State COVID requirements, including a specific, reserved seat for every attendee. If, on the day of the performance, you would prefer to exchange your seat for another to extend your social distance from other attendees, Theatre Front of House Staff will be happy to help.
