This Christmas, join the UWA Choral Society, soloists Lucinda Nicolls (Soprano), Emily Davis (Soprano), Belinda Butler (Contralto), Ciaran McChord (Tenor) and Sholto Foss (Baritone), organist Alessandro Pittorino and chamber orchestra, for an afternoon of exhilarating choral music at UWA’s iconic venue, Winthrop Hall.
Conductor Kristin Bowtell will lead a triumphant and joyful musical journey that includes operatic brilliance, tender beauty, and exquisite harmonies.
The Concert Program will include:
Amadeus Mozart – Coronation Mass in C Minor. Be enthralled by Mozart’s masterful work that is both musically beautiful and deeply connected to the text’s mood and meaning.
John Rutter – Gloria. Be thoroughly uplifted by this dazzling, bold and powerful work, with Rutter’s finely crafted playful rhythms and roof raising brass fanfares.
George F Handel -Excerpts from the Messiah. Sit back and immerse yourself in these familiar Christmas favourites, for audience and choristers alike.
John Rutter – Star Carol and Shepherd’s Pipe Carol. Enjoy Rutter’s celebratory Christmas Carols with their catchy rhythms and infectious melodic inventions.
After the concert, audience members are invited to join the choir for a BYO picnic on the lawns of Whitfeld Court, where the joyous spirit of the afternoon will continue in a relaxed and festive setting.
