Simon Tedeschi: Pianist and Prankster
WRITTEN BY SIMON TEDESCHI, EVA DI CESARE AND TIM MCGARRY
“If maths were music, then Simon would be at the top of the class.” Simon’s School Report – Year 4
Join one of Australia’s most inspiring young musicians, Simon Tedeschi as he takes us on a journey through a day in his life from 5am practice sessions, his first public performance age 8 at Sydney Opera House, winning the Sydney Piano Competition age 10 to playing to Luciano Pavarotti at the age of 13.
Through hilarious anecdotes as a boy, Simon recalls his pranks and practices which shaped his extraordinary life while playing some of his favourite music including Chopin’s Minute Waltz, Beethoven’s Fur Elise and in homage to his grandmother – a Polish Mazurka.
