Perth Waldorf School Class 12 present
Metamorphoses is a collection of myths and stories, originally put on paper by the poet Ovid over 2,000 years ago and brought to visual life by playwright Mary Zimmerman. Positioned in and around a pool of water, the characters enact Ovid's tales, juxtaposing the ancient and the contemporary in both language and image. The tone of the drama echoes the timeless themes of change and transformation: Midas has his golden touch; Cupid brings love; Narcissus is absorbed with his own reflection; Aphrodite turns lust into envy.
With its emphasis on love, loss and the transforming powers of the imagination, Metamorphoses promises to bring laughter, joy and tenderness. Not to be missed!
This event is restricted to patrons 13+. There will be adult themes and cigarette smoking simulation.
